Somersfield Staff Excels at UK Badminton Tournament
National coach Aaron Simmons and Somersfield’s Emma Moran-Lee competed at the UK Avon Tier 4 Badminton Tournament. Aaron placed 3rd in men’s singles, Emma earned 2nd in ladies’. Their success highlights their skill, dedication & their impact on young players in the Somersfield community.

The Montessori approach to phonics treats it as an ingrained part of learning to read and write. After children have learnt about the basics of parts of speech and understand the syntactic components of the English language, they are ready to engage in word study and learn to manipulate and decode language on a semantic level.

Jared Arnante ’31 met Premier David Burt after winning the Verbal Victory Spelling Bee. The event celebrated young Bermudians’ language skills, with Jared earning top honours among nine finalists from schools across the island.

Empowering Creativity: IB Aesthetic Performances in Dance & Gymnastics
In their aesthetics units, the girls explored dance and gymnastics, setting SMART goals to develop key skills. M1 & M3 focused on gymnastics, choreographing group performances, while M2 explored dance through improvisation & choreographic techniques. M4 students chose their own aesthetic, creating unique routines.

Jared Arnante ’31, winner of the Verbal Victory Spelling Bee, visited Government House to meet the Governor. Jared was joined by runner-up Olivia Brown and third-place finisher Samantha Hernandez to celebrate their success in the island-wide competition.

Somersfield Athletes Go the Distance at BSSF Track & Field
Somersfield Academy athletes delivered impressive performances at the BSSF senior school track & field event. Highlights include Grant Reese's gold in the U16 boys discus, Roman Jones qualifying for the 200m final, and Sydney Troake's gold in the U16 girls shot put. Many more athletes excelled!

Somersfield Sharks Crowned National Badminton Champions!
Our senior school coed team are officially National Badminton Champions! Our #1 team went unbeaten all season, earning a well-deserved title. Our young #2 team also impressed, finishing 4th against tough competition.
