Set to enter its fourth year, this competition serves as a platform for the emerging generation of photographers to showcase their deep connection with Bermuda's natural and cultural wonders, all in honor of the esteemed Dr. Reg Grundy.

Feral chickens are common in Bermuda. This photo makes me laugh because this rooster and hen look like they had an argument and are giving each other the silent treatment.

Many people participate in various sports and activities in Bermuda. It was great to see these wind surfers near Shelly Bay on a windy day. They were probably not even aware that I was taking a photo of them. It is really nice to see them out there having fun.

Wooden buildings are very rare in Bermuda. This home caught my eye because the architecture is really cool and it stands out amongst others. This photo represents a building in Bermuda that has marked a place in history.

This photo shows a unique angle of the wood structure supporting a slated stone roof. What struck me was seeing the intricate workmanship of this gazebo. I appreciate the craftsmanship and design of this particular piece of Bermuda architecture. It amazes me that our forefathers created this structure with such quality which has stood the test of time.

People of Bermuda - Naomi Every

Fishing is a big part of Bermuda's culture. This photo captures a local who is taking pride in his day's catch after being out all day long in his dinghy boat. He is cleaning a bunch of coneys which he caught on hand lines. Some will be gutted and some will be filleted. It is rewarding for Bermudians to go out on the water and come back with fresh fish to eat. For me, fishing is not only a hobby of mine, but it is part of my heritage that I cherish.

This photo was taken at Spittal Pond off the normal trail. Herons are typical birds that are seen around Bermuda. The interaction with this specific bird was unusual as it was looking directly at me. The photo is engaging for the viewer as it represents how animals and humans can be curious about each other. It is very therapeutic to be immersed in nature and I appreciated this experience.

A proud Australian-Bermudian, he held a profound affection for his island home and spent over three decades captivated by the beauty of the Bermuda Longtail. His dedication led him to the cliffs of Astwood Park, the waters of Castle Harbour, and the heights of St. David’s Battery, tirelessly capturing the essence of these magnificent birds.

As we approach the final judging on December 7, we eagerly anticipate witnessing the visual narratives crafted by Naomi Every and Jonah Every. These talented individuals, inspired by Dr. Grundy's passion for wildlife photography, are poised to leave their mark on the competition and continue the legacy of capturing the essence of Bermuda's natural wonders.
