Somersfield Academy Under-16 Netball Team Crowned Bermuda National Champions
Somersfield Academy’s Under-16 netball team are Bermuda National Champions after a strong showing at the round-robin tournament on 15 November. With victories over Saltus, Warwick, and Berkeley, and a draw against BHS, the team’s dedication paid off, marking Somersfield’s first-ever netball trophy.
Under-16 Netball Team Battles to a Thrilling Draw Against BHS
Our Under-16 netball team delivered an electrifying performance against BHS, drawing 14-14 in a suspenseful game. After a 4-4 first quarter, BHS led 5-9 by the second, but our girls stormed back to a 12-10 lead in the third. BHS scored the equaliser on the final buzzer, ending in a tie. MVPs Dezirae Darrell and Heidi Paulos stood out, and special thanks go to alumna Shi-Vaughn Lee for expertly umpiring the match.
Senior Netball Teams Shine in First League Matches
Somersfield Academy’s senior netball league kicked off with impressive performances from both of our teams. The Under 16s secured a 12-6 win against Warwick Academy, while the Over 16s narrowly lost 5-6. MVPs include Dezirae Darrell, Paige Lindo, and Naomi Crofton.
